About Us
TYO USA is an American organization focused on bringing together Tamils and promoting Tamil culture. TYO USA provides a place for Tamil youth across the United States to communicate, learn, and take part in projects that aid the Tamil community both at home in the United States and abroad. These projects include political advocacy and volunteer community service work. Furthermore, TYO USA seeks to promote Tamil culture and the Tamil language among youth in the United States.

Advocacy
In light of the ongoing history of injustice and state-sanctioned oppression targeted at the Tamil population in Sri Lanka, TYO USA takes part in a number of political action campaigns focused on the American political system designed to encourage the United States to help alleviate the suffering of the Tamils in Sri Lanka. TYO USA conducts mailing campaigns to raise awareness among the Tamil community here in the hopes that they, in turn, will do their part to raise awareness among their members of Congress. We also take part in direct lobbying of members of Congress in an effort to help improve U.S. policy on Sri Lanka and promote an outlook that acknowledges the oppression of the Tamil people.
